Adrian Mannarino v Steve Johnson Head to Head
Mannarino and Johnson have played plenty of times with the current H2H favouring the American 4-1. Most of those matches happened during Johnson’s peak a couple of years ago so there is very little recent data as the final match was played in 2018.

Mannarino’s Excellent Start to 2022
Adrian Mannarino is a proper tennis pro as the Frenchman rarely drops his level during the calendar year or during matches. The Frenchman is hovering around the top 50 for years and is always a tricky opponent to beat especially on quicker surfaces.
This year opened rather well for him despite a lacklustre 5-4 record. His first victories came in Melbourne at the Australian Open and he played a very solid event ultimately losing out to Rafael Nadal. He won two soli matches in Montpellier losing to Zverev and now will make his debut in Dallas.
The conditions and the court are perfect for his style of play and he will be a tricky opponent. Don’t be shocked if he pulls a few upsets as Mannarino has played better tennis this year than his record would have you believe. Against Johnson, he will have a chance.

Steve Johnson and the Pandemic
Steve Johnson was a very good tennis player a few years ago playing superbly at times. However, things go complicated a little before the pandemic and especially during it. Like most Americans, Johnson saw his playing time dip and his ranking as well.
Since then it’s been a struggle for consistency and result with Johnson barely ranked inside the top 100. Events such as the Dallas Open are a perfect chance for him to collect some points as, in theory, he should have a field day. The draw paired him up with Mannarino who is a tricky player to beat on fast courts.
He had a solid start to 2022 posting a 5-3 record with some impressive wins down under. He got plenty of playing time and should be confident enough to put up a fight against Mannarino. He lost to Jannik Sinner in Australia but what can you do. Against Mannarino, he will have a better chance but he will need to be sharp.
Mannarino v Johnson Prediction and Tip
Both of these players should enjoy playing in these conditions. Both have shown similar form recently but Mannarino has played last week which should indicate that he is a bit more match-ready than Johnson. The American will cherish playing on home soil and that should help him.
Mannarino has demonstrated pretty good form overall as did Johnson so I expect this match to be a close one. I expect a tiebreak and perhaps even three sets so the over on total games might be something worth considering. When it comes to the winner of the match I would have to back Mannarino. He has been the better player in recent months and has the game to hurt Johnson.
A lot will depend on the serve and the consistency from the baseline and again I favour Mannarino in both of those categories. Take the Frenchman to win this one.
Tip: Mannarino to win: 4/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
