Taylor Fritz v Jack Sock Head to Head
The pair have played each other four times before, and the current head to head record is two wins apiece.
Sock won their two matches in 2016, at the Australian Open and the US Open, but Fritz was victorious in their two contests in 2018, in Houston and Lyon.

Fritz in Rich Vein of Form
Fritz, who was given a first round bye in Dallas, is in a rich vein of form, going back to the end of last season, when he was a semi-finalist at Indian Wells, lost in the final in St. Petersburg, and reached the last eight of the Paris Masters before losing to Novak Djokovic.
He began his year playing for his country in the ATP Cup, where he won wo of his three singles matches, beating both Cameron Norrie and then Felix Augur-Aliassime.
From there he went to Melbourne and the Australian Open, where he achieved his best ever result in a Grand Slam, beating compatriot Frances Tiafoe and Roberto Bautista-Agut along the way, the latter after coming from behind in a five setter.
He eventually lost to the world number four, Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece in the fourth round, but was twice a set up before losing in the fifth.

Sock Looking to Climb Back Up Again
It was less than five years ago that Sock was a top ten player, but his descent down the rankings due to a loss of form and injury, has been dramatic.
However, there are recent signs that he may have arrested the decline and may once again begin looking upwards again.
This is his first tournament on the senior tour since losing in the first round of Indian Wells last October, concentrating on the Challenger circuit since then.
However, given a wildcard in Dallas, he repaid the faith of organisers with a straight sets victory over the German. Oscar Otte, in the first round on Tuesday.
After the first four games were shared, Sock was the first to break serve, and, although he had a set point saved, he was able to take the first set on his own serve.
The second set was almost a carbon copy of the second, with Sock forcing the only break.
When Sock was serving for the match, Otte did have a break back opportunity, but he could not take it, and, a few minutes later, it was all over.
Fritz v Sock Prediction and Tip
Although their head-to-head record is even, it has been a long time since Sock’s two victories, and the two men have been on different career trajectories since then. Fritz will start the heavy favourite to progress.
