Jordan Thompson v Mitchell Krueger Head to Head
They have never met at the tour level, however Thompson beat Krueger in their only meeting at a Furtures match in 2014.

Jordan Thompson will be making his third main draw appearance at Delray Beach. He lost in the second round in 2019 and had to retire from his opening round match in 2020.
A finalist in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2019, Thompson is 4-4 this year and produced his best result of the season last week in Dallas, where he reached the quarterfinals.
The 27-year-old defeated Spain’s Feliciano López and America’s Brandon Nakashima in straight sets to reach the last eight stage, but couldn’t go further in the tournament after failing to match the level of eventual finalist Jenson Brooksby.
Thompson’s performance in the other tournaments have been ordinary. He won the first round and lost in the next in Melbourne and Sydney and lost a close five-setter to Steve Johnson in the opening round of the Australian Open.
The Aussie, who prefers playing on hard courts than on other surfaces, was 21-21 last year with his best coming in Newport, where he was a semifinalist.

Krueger Coming Through Qualifiers
Mitchell Krueger had entered the Delray Beach qualifiers on the back of four consecutive losses from all competitions. The American ended the streak with a straight sets win over Kazakhstan’s Dmitry Popko in the first qualifying round.
In the second qualifying round against Ernesto Escobedo, Krueger lost the first set 1-6, but drew level by taking the second set 6-4, before Escobedo retired.
Krueger began the year by reaching the semifinals of the Traralgon Challenger in Australia, but things became difficult for him in the following tournament. He was knocked out of the second qualifying round of the Australian Open and then lost in the first rounds of the Columbus and Cleveland Challengers and the opening round of Dallas Open last week.
Ranked No. 164, the 28-year-old has a 3-12 career record at the tour-level. This will be the first time that he will feature in the main draw at Delray Beach, after two failed attempts to qualify in 2018 and 2020.
Thompson v Krueger Prediction and Tip
Thompson’s experience at this level should hold him in good stead. Expect the Aussie to pick up a routine win and advance to the next round.
