Nikoloz Basilashvili v Roberto Bautista Agut Head to Head
It is 3-2 to Agut at the moment but Bashilashvili has thrived on the courts in the Middle East. Both of his wins came in Dubai and Doha, including his win in last year’s Qatar Open final in straight sets.

Basilashvili Fends Off Rinderknech
Nikoloz Basilashvili made a strong statement in the semifinal with his 6-4, 6-2 win over Arthur Rinderknech. The Georgian needed just an hour and 13 minutes to reach the final in Doha for the second consecutive season.
Starting as the number three seed with a bye into the second round, Basilasvhili defeated Elias Ymer and Marton Fucsovics in the preceding rounds to advance in the final four.
Interestingly, the world number 22 rediscovered his form in Qatar – much akin to last year. He was on a six-match losing streak before arriving in the country, losing all of his opening-round matches in Rotterdam, Montpellier, and on the hard courts of Australia.
This was like a deja-vu for the 29-year-old who incurred a similar rut in 2021 before winning the title in Doha. His season picked up after that as Basilashvili moved on to win the Bavarian Championships, reaching the semifinal in Halle, and the final in the Indian Wells Masters.

Agut in his Second ATP Final of the Year
Roberto Bautista Agut has had a decent campaign in Doha. The number two seed has been quite clinical in his opening performances as he stunned Andy Murray to submission with 6-0, 6-1, and followed it with a 6-1, 6-1 rout of Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
In the semifinal, he was challenged by the Russian Karen Khachanov but managed to come out as the victor with 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.
The Spaniard is set to play in his third consecutive final in Doha. He won the title in 2019, upsetting Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka en route before overcoming Tomas Berdych in the final. Last season, the World No. 16 had to contend for the runner-up trophy but not before knocking out Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev.
This season, Bautista Agut looks determined to go the distance again. He has had a decent start to the season; a runner-up feat in the ATP Cup and third-round stints in Melbourne and Montpellier.
Agut v Basilashvili Prediction and Tip
Both players have got a rich history in Doha but Agut’s overall form and experience make him the favourite to win this one.
