Matteo Berrettini v Carlos Alcaraz Head to Head
The pair have met twice before, in Vienna last year, and at the Australian Open in January, each man having won once, but, in each case, it needed a final set tie-break to decide the outcome of the match.

Berrettini Pushed Close by Local Favoutrite
Berrettini, playing in his first tournament since reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open where he reached the quarter-finals before losing to the Rafael Nadal, was given a bye in the first round, and was expected to easily beat the Brazilian number one, Thiago Monteiro, in the second.
,That was not, though, how it panned out against a man ranked 100 places below him in the world, although he started well enough, one break of serve enough to give him the first set,
The Brazilian was not to be shaken off easily though, and it was he who gained the early break in the second. Berrettini, though, was able to level, and then, in the subsequent tie-break, held two match points. He could not convert either of them though, and, instead, it was Monteiro who was able to level the match.
The third set went with serve, until rain interrupted proceedings. They were off court for several hours which seemed to benefit the Italian more than the Brazilian, as Berrettini broke serve immediately on resumption of play, and then served out.

Alcaraz Sets Up Melbourne Re-Match
Alcaraz, also playing in his first tournament since the Australian Open, had beaten fellow Spaniard Jaume Munar in the first round, coming from behind after dropping the opening set.
His match with Federico Delbonis of Argentina, the world number 37, began on Thursday, and Alcaraz was a break up when the rain started to fall, and the match had to be carried over.
Further rain delays to the schedule meant it was only late on Friday that they could resume their match, but it did not take the Spaniard long to claim the first set.
The second set became something of a battle of errors, with Alcaraz dropping his serve, only for Delbonis to follow suit, a pattern that was then repeated.
That meant a tie-break, but the Argentine’s form then deserted him, and he only won a single point more, enabling Alcaraz to being an end to their marathon, at least in terms of elapsed time since the start of the match.
Berrettini v Alcaraz Prediction and Tip
This match could go either way given the previous two encounters between these two, but the young Spaniard has proved a tricky opponent for Berrettini thus far, and might just get the better of him.
