David Goffin v Taro Daniel Head to Head
There have been no previous meetings between Goffin and Daniel before this.

Goffin on a Three-Match Losing Streak
It’s not been the best few months for Goffin, who has struggled to get past opponents since the start of 2021. And that form, or lack there of, has continued well into this year as well, with the Belgian finding it difficult to string together wins.
In fact other than making it to the quarterfinals at Sydney earlier this year, Goffin has registered just one other match win, a first round victory over Benjamin Bonzi in Marseille.
Since then, Goffin has lost three matches in a row including first round defeats at Rotterdam and Doha this month.
And those weren’t even surprise losses given he had gone into both those matches – against Alex de Minaur and Emil Ruusuvuori – as rank outsider for a win.
Can he now bring down an opponent who has never been ranked higher than 64th in the world in his career?

Confident Daniel Looking to Make a Splash
He has had to play in qualifiers across multiple tournaments this year but that hasn’t dimmed Daniel’s enthusiasm and he has performed rather well to get ahead in those competitions.
Sure, Daniel lost his opener in Doha, the one tournament where he wasn’t expected to go through the qualifiers but other than that the Japanese player has been solid.
In Adelaide, for instance, Daniel made it through the qualifiers to make the second round. And he then topped that showing with a win over Andy Murray in the second round of Australian Open.
Murray did have his revenge last week in Doha but Daniel will take some confidence from the rest of the results and should kick-start things here on an even keel.
Goffin v Daniel Prediction and Tip
There isn’t much to choose between the two players with Daniel expected to edge out his opponent given all that’s happened in recent times with Goffin.
Tip: Daniel to win: 10/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
