Felix Auger-Aliassime v Nikoloz Basilashvili Head to Head
These two players played three times so far with the Canadian Auger-Aliassime winning all matches. The last one came in 2020 at the Cincinnati Master with Auger-Aliassime winning 6-4 6-1.

Super Felix Dominating in 2022
Not many tennis players have played better tennis in 2022 than Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian led Team Canada to the ATP Cup trophy and since then he played two finals winning one and losing one. He won his maiden trophy in Rotterdam by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas but lost in the Marseille final to Andrey Rublev.
He won 15 matches so far with only 4 defeats and he will look to continue that run in Dubai. It will be the 3rd consecutive week Auger will play tennis and that will certainly be a factor. Luckily for him, the draw paired him up with Basilashvili and the Georgian is anything but a patient player and his matches usually don’t last too long.
Auger has shown a newfound level of confidence in his play and consistency that has seen him avoid some of the things that plagued him throughout his career. He rarely goes on errors sprees as before and generally believes in himself more. It worked so far for him and if he continues to build upon that he will climb even higher on the rankings.

Improved Form From Basilashvili
Nikoloz Basilashvili is not enjoying a very good season as the Georgian has lost the majority of matches he played. He did find some form last week in Doha reaching the final there for the 2nd year in a row. Unlike last year, he did not leave Doha with the trophy as Roberto Bautista Agut proved better.
The Georgian is a known commodity in the world of tennis. He hits the ball hard and rarely plays with variety. If he is hitting his forehand he is extremely tough to beat. If not, he tends to lose matches quite quickly. This year it’s been more of the losing than winning for him but some solid showing in Doha could give him confidence.
The conditions in Dubai should allow him to play his game just like Doha but opponents will have more ways of attacking him. Patience is something Auger has more than Basilahsvili and it should favour him. Both have had deep runs in the past week which means fatigue will be at play with the Frenchman having more of it due to having to travel to the Gulf.
Auger-Aliassime v Basilashvili Prediction and Tip
This matchup heavily favoured Auger-Aliassime for a multitude of reasons. For starters, he has played much better this year than Basilashvili. He generally has a game that should counter the Georgian pretty well. Auger can serve well and play aggressively if he needs to. He can also be patient and play longer rallies.
Basilashvili can beat Auger-Aliassime especially if the Canadian is a step slow from all the tennis he has played in the past two weeks. Fatigue will be at play in this match but so will many other factors. In theory, Auger should win this easily but he will need to back it up on the court.
The Canadian rarely disappointed this season so there is no reason not to trust him in this spot. I think he will get the job done.
Tip: Auger-Aliassime to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
