Iga Swiatek v Daria Kasatkina Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings and Swiatek has won two of them.
The first of them came in Eastbourne last year and it was Kasatkina who had managed to surprise Swiatek in that. This was followed by two matches between these players this year – at Australian Open and Dubai last week – and both times, Swiatek eased past Kasatkina in two easy sets.

After getting a first round bye and following a lacklustre showing in Dubai last week, Swiatek was made to struggle in her opening match in Doha.
The Pole was stretched to three sets, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 against Viktorija Golubic in a match lasting more than two hours.
Things looked to be going to script when Swiatek broke Golubic twice in a row to claim the first set but there were serving difficulties even there for the world number eight. And her opponent took full toll of that with four breaks of serves in the second set despite dropping her own serve two times.
It was in the final set that Swiatek got her rhythm back, breaking her opponent two times to claim the match.
She would have to do a lot better than that come the third round given the pedigree of her opponent.

Kasatkina Escapes Cristian Assault
Jaqueline Cristian 6/4 going into her second round encounter against Kasatkina but the manner in which she ran through the first set was something to behold.
Fortunately for Kasatkina, an injury to her opponent ended the match early but that doesn’t mean she would be too happy with what transpired in the encounter.
Because for the Russian to drop her serve five times of the six times she had the opportunity including every single time in the first set is hardly the kind of momentum she needed going into this encounter against Swiatek.
Kasatkina had earlier defeated Ajla Tomljanovic in three sets in the first round and lost her opener in Dubai – to Swiatek too.
Swiatek v Kasatkina Prediction and Tip
While Swiatek had her troubles in the previous round it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise she is an overwhelming favourite here. Expect a straight-set win for the Pole.
