Marie Bouzkova is nearly out of the top 100 but the Czech player actually is playing very solid tennis overall. With a 5-2 record on the year Bouzkova is doing what she can to stay inside the top 100. She needs to score some wins in the main draw of events to achieve that and this seems like a very good opportunity to do so.
She won at least one match at ever event she played and that’s the case in Guadalajara as well. In the first round, she proved better Misaki Doi taking her down in 3 sets. She is yet to win two matches in a row which makes this an interesting matchup but Bouzkova will be considered the favourite in this matchup.
Her game is largely dependent on her serve and her baseline consistency. She can lose focus quite easily which can be dangerous against an up and coming player like Bronzetti but Bouzkova has been playing tennis for a while and she should be able to handle it.

Bronzetti Keeps Improving
Lucia Bronzetti will break into the top 100 very soon. If not after this event then in several weeks time as the Italian is enjoying a very strong start to the year. She has a 9-2 record with the majority of those wins coming in qualifiers but still, she can only play who the draw gives her.
Bronzetti took down Caty McNally in the first round and it was a very close encounter that the Italian successfully navigated. Another close one will come against Bouzkova as the players are fairly similar level wise. Id’ argue that Bronzetti is playing better tennis right now and has more confidence.
She will have to prove it in the match but I think she has a decent shot of winning this match. She will need to be consistent from the baseline as she likes to play aggressively. Her serve is not that great and she will need to find a way to compensate for that.
Bouzkova v Bronzetti Prediction and Tip
They never played before which makes this a bit tricky to call. Both were in 1998 but Bouzkova has far more experience on the WTA tour. The Czech player generally possesses the bigger game but Bronzetti is more consistent from the baseline.
Guadalajara allows players to unleash the ball that might come in handy in this match. Both have had to overcome 3-setters in the first round so both might be a bit slow to start the match. Bouzkova is considered the favourite due to experience and showing more so far in their careers but Bronzetti has had the better year.
Logic tells us that this should be a very close match with both players having great moments. In that case, I think we might see another match with 3 sets of tennis where Bouzkova might have the slight advantage in the 3rd. I can see Bronzetti winning this match as well but I can’t see either winning in two sets.
