Anett Kontaveit v Iga Swiatek Head to Head
It’s been neck and neck between the two players with the tally now tied at 2-2.
Swiatek has won both those matches in 2021; the last win came in the US Open round of 32 with 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Another big win for Swiatek
Iga Swiatek is looking to conclude what has been a brilliant week for her. The Pole has beaten three top 10 players after surviving a rather surprising three-setter against Viktorija Golubic in the first round.
Since then, Swiatek has stormed past Daria Kasatkina, Aryna Sabalenka, and Maria Sakkari without dropping a set. Having lost just 15 games in those matches, the current world number eight is definitely primed for her first title of the year.
She arrived in Doha on the back of a superb start. The reigning Italian Open champion reached the second-last round in Adelaide 1 and the Australian Open; that said, she was beaten early in Dubai last week by Jelena Ostapenko.

Kontaveit Subdues Ostapenko again
For the second time this month – in a semis match – Anett Kontaveit defeated Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets to reach the trophy round.
This time around, the Estonian was more clinical than in St. Petersburg as she took the match 6-1, 6-4 winning eight of those 12 games consecutively. It also marks the second time this season that she has reached a final on the WTA Tour. Earlier in Russia, she ended up going the distance by beating Sakkari in the final.
Now, she needs to defeat the player who outperformed the Greek. And in all fairness, her chances of doing so are looking quite good.
Kontaveit has made it to an impressive eight finals in the last 12 months (including Doha). She took the winner’s silverware in five of those to crack the top 10 and set up nicely for the new season.
Swiatek v Kontaveit Prediction and Tip
The head to head record may be tied at 2-2 but Kontaveit has been far more consistent in finals than Swiatek. She is composed and well-matched for Swiatek’s aggressive style of play. More importantly, she has developed a sense of keeping calm in high-pressure matches while her opponent may be more prone to making errors.
