Elisabetta Cocciaretto only played two matches in 2022 with the Italian up and coming player struggling with fitness and injuries. Both of those matches came in Australia in the qualifiers with the Italian winning the first one before losing the 2nd one.
Since then there hasn’t been any tennis for Cocciaretto who needs matches to keep progressing and getting better. Her ranking slipped down to 164 and that’s something she needs to change in the near future and that should not be too hard with her talent.

Martina Trevisa and Elisabetta Cocciratto know each other well having played three times against each other as well as doubles in the past. The players have a very similar playstyle with aggressive tendencies albeit neither covers the court that well. Things are better on clay for them but on indoor hard courts, they might run into trouble.
Being of short stature doesn’t help them generally but in their H2H matchups it balances things out. The problem for Cocciaretto, who is the more talented player, is that she is lacking matches. Nothing can make up for a lack of matches and she will rusty in this one.
