Madison Keys v Petra Martic Head to Head
Keys and Martic are locked at 1-1 in their head-to-head. Martic defeated the American in the second round of the French Open in 2017. But it was Keys who won their most recent match at the WTA Elite Trophy in 2019.

Madison Keys has enjoyed a rebirth in 2022. She won her first WTA title since 2019 in Adelaide and went on to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open, defeating two Major champions along the way.
Keys racked up 88 aces during her stay Down Under, edging out the likes of Ashleigh Barty and Aryna Sabaleka, and topped the WTA leaderboard in that department.
It is worth pointing out that the big-serving American was ranked at No. 87 at the turn of the year. But she has soared into the world’s Top 30 in just under two months. Currently sitting at 28 in the world, Keys will have a lot of points to bank during the upcoming North American hard court season.
The 27-year-old made a brief stop in Guadalajara this past week in her first tournament since reaching the last four in Melbourne. But she was overpowered and outplayed by France’s Harmony Tan in a surprise three-set defeat.

Martic Incapable Of Stopping Slump
Petra Martic is clearly enduring a decline. Three years ago, the tall Croat peaked at a career-high ranking of No. 14 shortly after winning her maiden WTA title in Istanbul and going on to main-event the quarterfinals of the French Open for the first time.
It was an improbable comeback to fathom what she did at the time. Martic had been plagued by a series of career-ending injuries during her early years, but she worked her way back to get into shape and fit again.
However, her good form has shrunk since 2020 and she is now staring at the possibility of exiting the world’s Top 100. Currently ranked 85th in the world rankings, Martic finished 2021 with a 41.7% winning record (15-21) – her lowest return since 2015.
Martic did not win a match in Australia in January. Her first win of 2022 came in St. Petersburg when she beat Kamila Rakhimova, but fell in the second round to Elise Mertens.
Keys v Martic Prediction and Tip
Keys should be quick to shake off that Monterrey defeat. It was a painful watch particularly in that third set when she leaked errors for fun. But I think she should be able to bounce back against a harmless Martic.
