Dayana Yastremska v Cristina Bucsa Head to Head
Dayana Yastremska owns a 1-0 head-to-head advantage of Spain’s Cristina Bucsa. That meeting took place in the qualifying rounds of the Andrezieux-Boutheon ITF in 2017 which Yastremska won in straight sets.

Yastremska Scores Emotional Win Over Bogdan
Even with a fragile heart, Dayana Yastremska remained unshaken in her first-round match at the Lyon Open. As Ukraine becomes increasingly swamped with Russian forces, Yastremska has felt every bit of its tremor over 1,500 miles away from the capital Kiev.
Yastremska scored the most emotional win of her career on Tuesday after defeating Ana Bogan in a dramatic three-setter that lasted over three hours.
Before this week, Yastremska was not even certain she would leave an underground carpark which she sheltered in, back in her war-torn Ukraine. But she fled as a refugee before making her way out of the country.
Yastremska took the court in Lyon in a state of bedlam. From the first point, there was a clear indication this was going to be a tumultuous evening. Bogdan had an easy time taking charge of proceedings, breaking the Ukrainian wild card at will and wrapping up the set 6-3.
But Yastremska was resilient. In the second set, she saved a match point in the 12th game before going on to win the tiebreak. And in the decider, she rallied from a break down and saved another match point this time in a tiebreak, before rounding off an unlikely win.

Bucsa Stuns Cornet
Cristina Bucsa, meanwhile, picked up just her second main draw win on the WTA tour after stunning the World No. 37 Alize Cornet 1-6 6-4 6-1 on Monday.
The Spaniard had reached the main draw in Lyon after navigating the qualifying rounds during the weekend, beating Lucrezia Stefanini and an in-form Tatjana Maria.
But after dropping the first set against the much-fancied Frenchwoman, the writing appeared to be on the wall. Bucsa, whose previous main draw win on the WTA tour came in Belgrade last year, rallied to take a seesaw second set that featured seven service breaks in total, and which four of them went the Spaniard’s way. It was enough to restore parity.
In that third set, it was painful to watch if you were Cornet’s fan. She won just 19% return points (3/16) and was outplayed by the World No. 139 who is now seeking a place in the quarterfinals.
Yastremska v Bucsa Prediction and Tip
This should be a lot closer than what the odds suggest. Bucsa is a well-rounded athlete who can perform with greater authority even outside clay courts. Her win over Tatjana Maria in the qualifiers was massive for confidence. And now beating Cornet in relatively routine fashion in her opener could be a portent of what is to come.
Tip: Yastremska to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
