Alizé Cornet v Ana Konjuh Head to Head

Cornet beat Konjuh in their only meeting at Wimbledon in 2015.

Cornet Looking to Recapture Australian Open Form

Alize Cornet showed terrific form at the Australian Open, when she reached the quarterfinals of a major for the first time in what was her 63rd main draw appearance in Grand Slams.

Barring that performance in Melbourne, the Frenchwoman has been inconsistent in the other tournaments. She lost in the first round in Melbourne, Adelaide, St. Petersburg and Lyon and won just one round in Qatar, while falling in the second.

The 32-year-old World No. 34 has made several appearances at Indian Wells, but has never gone past the Round of 16, having reached that stage in 2014.

She will be looking to regain her Australian Open form in the tournament. Cornet had beaten seeded players in Garbine Muguruza, Tamara Zidansek and Simona Halep en route the quarterfinals in the opening major of the tournament.

Konjuh Has Been in Decent Form

Ana Konjuh started the year with back-to-back quarterfinal appearances. She has lost a bit of form since then but the Croatian has shown fight this season.

She was upset by Katie Boulter in her last tournament in Lyon, losing to the Briton in three in the first round, and will be looking to overcome that setback quickly.

The World No. 48 started the season well by reaching the last eight in Melbourne and Adelaide. Some of the players she defeated in the first two tournaments of the year includes Tereza Martincova, Kaia Kanepi and Marketa Vondrousova. She next stunned Shelby Rogers to reach the second round of the Australian Open but failed to go further after falling to Danielle Collins.

Konjuh also won one and lost one in Qatar but was upset in the first round in Lyon.

The 24-year-old has looked good ever since making a comeback on the tour last year after being kept out of the tour for three years due to an injury. Konjuh even reached the final in Belgrade last year, but was forced to pull out in the second set.

She will look to keep impressing on the tour and could make a solid start to the tournament on Wednesday.

Cornet v Konjuh Prediction and Tip

Apart from the Australian Open, Cornet’s form hasn’t been good this year. Konjuh could be a tough player to beat. Expect a solid fight with Konjuh advancing.
