Katie Voynets v Arantxa Rus Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 20-year-old American, and her Dutch opponent, who is eleven years older.

Wildcard Volynets Hoping for Rare Win
Volynets is making her Indian Wells debut having been granted a wildcard.
More regularly found on the ITF tour, she scored her maiden victory at that level last year by winning an event in Bonita Springs last May.
Still a relative novice on the senior tour, she did make her Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open in January, after coming through the qualifying competition, but was beaten in the first round by Beatriz Haddad Maia of Brazil, going down in three sets.
Since then, she has reached the quarter-final of an ITF event in Rome and the second round of another in the USA, in the middle of which was another WTA appearance in Mexico.
Again, though, she was beaten in the first round by Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain, the world number 36.

Rus Has Poor Indian Wells Record
Rus is looking to improve on a poor record in Indian Wells – she first competed here in 2010 in the qualifying competition, but it took her until last year before she even made the second round.
That though, emulated the best she has managed at any WTA 1000 event, and, apart from a third and fourth round appearance on clay at the French Open, her Grand Slam record is almost equally dismal.
She is in mixed form coming into the tournament this year, losing both her matches in Australia – the Sydney Open and the Australian Open – in the first round.
She entered an ITF event in Grenoble, and reached the quarter-final, and then came through qualifying to make the second round in Doha.
Last week in Lyon she began well by thrashing Danka Kovinic of Montenegro, but then was beaten by Shuai Zhang of China in straight sets in the second round.
Volynets v Rus Prediction and Tip
Whilst Rus does not have a good record in Indian Wells, she should still have too much experience for the wildcard debutant Volynets.
