Grigor Dimitrov v Tommy Paul Head to Head
There have been two previous matches between these players and both have won one apiece. Both matches came in 2020, with Dimitrov crushing Paul at US Open in straight sets after having lost a tough, five-setter at Australian Open.

Dimitrov Season Tapering Off
It’s still early days in the 2022 season, but Dimitrov would be a tad worried to have lost some of the momentum he might have gained from his showing at Melbourne.
Featuring at the Melbourne Summer Set 1 in what was his first tournament of the year, Dimitrov packed up a solid performance to make it to the semifinal there. However, following that, Dimitrov would believe he could have done better.
At the Australian Open, for instance, Dimitrov lost in the second round to Benoit Paire – a player struggling for form himself.
This was followed by another second round loss to John Millman in Delray Beach but if one thought things would get better in Acapulco, an opening defeat at the hands of Stefan Kozlov was all he had to show for it. This was despite going into that encounter as a 3/10 favourite.
Can Dimitrov now get things moving here against a very tricky opponent?

Paul’s Made a Solid Start
He might not have gone the distance in any of the tournaments he has played this year but Paul has shown enough fire to suggest he could build on that Stockholm Open title win last season.
Paul, who is coming off a Davis Cup win last week, has already reached the third round of four of the tournaments he’s played in.
These include the Adelaide International 1 and 2, and the Delray Beach Open where he fell to Cameron Norrie in the end. A solid showing at Acapulco Open saw him take advantage of a Matteo Berrettini injury and a three-set win over Dusan Lajovic taking him to the quarterfinal.
And while he lost to Rafael Nadal there, a fighting second-set tie-breaker would have given him some confidence coming into the rest of this season.
Dimitrov v Paul Prediction and Tip
Dimitrov might not be the easiest of opponents but Paul has the momentum to take him down by the looks of things.
