He might not have gotten going at Dallas and Delray Beach but take nothing away from the kind of season Cressy has had so far.
Starting out the year ranked 112th in the world, Cressy’s rock-solid performances in the first three tournaments he was a part of this season saw him propelled to 59th, his career-best ranking.
This included a runner-up trophy at the Melbourne Summer Set 1 where he had made the main draw as a qualifier. Wins over Reilly Opelka, Jaume Munar and Grigor Dimitrov is what took him to that title-decider tie against Rafael Nadal in which he went down fighting.
Cressy followed that up with a quarterfinal appearance in Sydney and then a career-best Grand Slam performance saw him make the fourth round at Australian Open – he also took a set off Daniil Medvedev despite starting out 12/1 in that match.

Eubanks Searching for First Maiden Main Draw Win
Eubanks has featured in four tournaments this year including one on the Challenger circuit and he is still yet to win a main draw match. At two of them, at Australian Open and Dallas, he failed to make the main draw as well.
Having reached the second round last time at Indian Wells Open, Eubanks has done well to make the main draw this time.
Both his qualifying wins came against experienced pros – Joao Sousa and Feliciano Lopez – and he did well to tame those opponents with his solid display. Unfortunately for him, his last win in the main draw of a tournament came at this very tournament last year – and it was the only one of the previous year too.
