Andrey Rublev v Frances Tiafoe Head to Head
They played once before and it happened last year at the US Open. Tiafoe won 4-6 6-3 7-6(6) 4-6 6-1.

Andrey Rublev is 15-2 on the year so far and it’s been a blast for the Russian. Titles, trophies, doubles trophies and everything in between happened for Rublev this year who already won 15 matches and lost only two. He arrived in America after winning back-to-back titles in Marseille and Dubai.
His play in the first match was great and he easily defeated Koepfer to move. Everything is known about Rublev and his playstyle. Unleash the force from the baseline and play aggressive tennis. Recently he has been adding a bit of variety into his game and it’s worked wonders.
He’s also becoming a lot stronger mentally and physically being able to play longer and taxing matches. All of that is allowing him to blossom into one of the best players in the world.

Injury Concerns in the Past for Tiafoe
Frances Tiafoe played his first match in a while against Brandon Nakashima here and he was superb. The Amerian is a fan favourite both in the States and outside because of his bubbly personality and attractive playstyle. There were some injury concerns for him ahead of his Nakashima clash but he put them to bed quite early.
Tiafoe only played five matches so far and it will take him time to get into the swing of things. Rublev is not a playing against whom you want to play rusty but I trust the American to find a way. Playing in front of his crowd and on the big stage, Tiafoe rarely disappoints.
A lot of will depend on Rublev though as the Russian has shown the ability to lose matches mentally before. It happened last year at the US Open when Tiafoe smashed him in the final set 6-1.
Rublev v Tiafoe Prediction and Tip
This promises to be a mouth-watering affair simply because you know Tiafoe will rise to the occasion and play some smashing tennis. Rublev is always pretty good and that’s promises to deliver an epic clash. The Russian is the favourite in this one but it will be far from easy.
The American leads the H2H 1-0 and he won’t make it easy. He is quick, he can hit amazing angles and he serves rather well. All of those things can frustrate Rublev to the point of going on error sprees. I do think the Russian has unlocked some parts of his game that should allow him to overcome that.
All in all, I think Rublev will win. It will happen in 3 sets though as I think Tiafoe will be able to sneak away with one. Be aware though, I would not be shocked if Tiafoe won either so keep that in mind.
