Kyrgios Being Serious

When Nick Kyrgios is serious about tennis is he a player very close to a top 10 level and he proved it in the last round by easily defeating Casper Ruud in conditions that theoretically should favour the Norwegian more.

Nick Kyrgios has been very serious about tennis in 2022 and it’s not a surprise that is been the best year in a very long time for him.

He is approaching matches differently, he is focused during matches, his thoughts don’t wander off. There are no off-court antics and it’s showing at a very high level so far. He will need to keep that level and that confidence when he takes on his next opponent, Sinner, who is great as well.

It will be a chance for Kyrgios to earn his 2nd consecutive top 10 win this week which would be quite a statement. It’s been a while since the Australian enjoyed playing tennis and tennis fans are happy that he does, cause they do too.

Strong Start for Sinner

Jannik Sinner has won 11 matches this year with only two defeats and all of those matches came on hard courts. It’s to stop which surface is his preferred one and will look for things to keep going in Indian Wells. His draw so far has been quite flattering with Laslo Djere and Benjamin Bonzi.

Neither of those players realistically stood a chance against Sinner albeit Bonzi did give him a run for his money. The French player won the 2nd set and played rather well in the 3rd but Sinner as able to hang on. The Italian is aggressive, he attacked albeit not with laser precision.

He can make mistakes and that inconsistency might cost him against Kyrgios. It did last time he played here against Fritz and Kyrgios is much more dangerous on his own day. Similar styles so keep that in mind.

Kyrgios v Sinner Prediction and Tip

These two players never played before so it’s kind of hard to predict how things might go. Both are playing well but I would argue Kyrgios is showing a more consistent level. It’s not about being better or having the higher level it’s sustaining that over a long period of time.

He dropped only 10 points on serve vs Ruud but Sinner is a much more aggressive player and will press the issue. If Kyrgios can withstand that he should win this match. He has been a bit more consistent than Sinner so far, which seems crazy to say.

The Italian will need to be really sharp on return in this match. If he can return deep and hard, he will have a chance. I expect him to find some success with that. Will it be enough? Probably not as I think, Nick will pull through.

Tip: Kyrgios to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
