Maria Sakkari v Elena Rybakina Head to Head
It’s 1-0 to Rybakina who last defeated Sakkari in the St. Petersburg Trophy 2020 in three sets.

Rybakina, Looking More Like Herself
Despite starting the 2022 season on a brilliant note – a runner-up feat in Adelaide 500 – Elena Rybakina was unlucky to continue building on this momentum.
Hit by injuries and a positive Covid-19 diagnosis, the Kazakh was forced to retire from many tournaments in the early rounds (Sydney, Australian Open, St. Petersburg), and was also beaten in the opening round of WTA Doha by Jaqueline Cristian.
This was almost a month ago; since then, Rybakina seemed to have recovered well enough and looks happy to be back on the courts. It is also impressive to see that she hasn’t lost her touch.
So far in the BNP Paribas Open, the number 17 seed has made easy work of Alison Van Uytvanck, Victoria Azarenka, and Viktorija Golubic – all in straight sets.
Currently ranked World No. 20, Rybakina has established herself as one of the most consistent performers on the tour. Last year, she made it to the quarterfinal in the French Open and later reached the penultimate rounds in the Tokyo Olympics, Eastbourne, Ostrava, and Chicago.
She is also no stranger to taking on the big guns and defeating them.

Sakkari Benefits from Saville’s Retirement
Maria Sakkari didn’t have to work that hard in her fourth-round bout against Daria Saville. She took an early lead with 4-1 in the first set before the Australian couldn’t continue any further.
This result follows a flawless 6-3, 6-0 victory over Petra Kvitova and a 6-3, 7-5 win against Katerina Siniakova.
Looking at Sakkari’s recent form, she has been nothing short of unstoppable of late. She reached the final in St. Petersburg but fell to Anett Kontaveit in the final; the 26-year-old followed it with a semifinal sprint in the WTA Doha.
Currently ranked World No. 6, Sakkari was a consistent performer last year as she reached the semis in two of the four majors along with the WTA Finals and the Miami Open.
Sakkari v Rybakina Prediction and Tip
Rybakina makes for an appealing bet here because her chances of winning this one aren’t as low as the bookmakers may seem to think. The 22-year-old has already beaten Sakkari once and is quite consistent on the whole. However, it won’t be an easy match for her – both players will need to work hard.
Tip: Rybakina to win: 11/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
