Camila Giorgi v Lucia Bronzetti Head to Head

She might have gotten herself a first round bye as a result of being a seeded player but Giorgi’s form has been anything but something to write home about.
The 30-year-old Italian, who has never gone beyond the third round in Miami before this, has lost four matches in a row since reaching the third round at Australian Open.
Giorgi, who did not play any of the pre-Australian Open tournaments, had started off with victories over Anastasia Potapova and Tereza Martincova in that competition but has fallen by the wayside after that.
She lost to Ash Barty in the third round there which was followed by defeats at the hands of Ekaterina Alexandrova, Petra Kvitova and Caroline Garcia in the first rounds of the tournaments which followed.
And after missing the Indian Wells Open, Giorgi will hope she can snap this losing streak with a solid performance against a player who has never been a top-100 player in her career.

Bronzetti Stuns Tomljanovic in Opener
She was a lucky loser making it to the main draw of Miami Open, having gone down to Wang Qiang in the qualifiers before that. And when she fell a set down against Ajla Tomljanovic, Bronzetti looked to be up against a wall.
A fighting performance in the next two sets, aided by some horrible Tomljanovic serving saw Bronzetti carve out a 4-6, 7-6 (8), 6-2 win. In turn, Bronzetti was forced to save a match-point in the second set tie-breaker.
It was Bronzetti who drew the first blood in the opening set by taking a 3-1 lead but then lost five of the next six games to fold meekly.
And when she lost her serve in the opening game of the second set, Bronzetti looked to be down for the count. A break back immediately in the second game, followed by another exchange of breaks in games seven and eight helped her through to the tie-breaker.
In the final set, Tomljanovic managed only six first serves in and won just two points off it, making it an easy getaway for the Italian. Can she now trouble her fellow countrywoman in this one?
Giorgi v Bronzetti Prediction and Tip
While Giorgi starts off a favourite here, odds of 2/1 for a Bronzetti win don’t do a lot of justice for the kind of fight that was on offer for her. Expect this to be a fighting performance from Bronzetti again.
