Danielle Collins v Anna Bondar Head to Head
Collins and Bondar have not crossed at any level before this.

Collins Returns After Bout of Dizziness
Danielle Collins will make her much anticipated return to action after being sidelined for over a month since her last competitive match.
Collins was in fine form at the start of the 2022 season, reaching her maiden Grand Slam final at the Australian Open, beating all comers but Ashleigh Barty. And as of yesterday, she turned out to be the last opponent the Aussie faced in her short career (Barty, of course, announcing her shock retirement from the game at just 25).
Collins, meanwhile, played just one match since losing the Australian Open final. That was in Dubai, and she did not complete the match despite taking a one-set lead. The American power-hitter struggled with her visuals and needed to be escorted out of the court after taking a medical timeout.
It would later be revealed that the 28-year-old suffered from a bout of dizziness. Collins took a month’s rest, forfeiting her participation at the WTA 1000 in Indian Wells. But she is now fit and ready to make her mark at the Miami Open.

Bondar Scales Past Garcia
Hungary’s Anna Bondar reached the second round of the Miami Open on her tournament debut, after her opponent Caroline Garcia was forced to retire due to a foot injury.
Bondar overcame her own serving yips and withstood five aces from the Frenchwoman’s racket to take the first set 7-5. She broke Garcia twice, and despite winning fewer return points than her opponent, still found a little bit of consistency to have the edge.
Garcia, however, called for the trainer during the changeover before deciding to retire for an apparent blister problem. The 24-year-old Hungarian is now 4-5 for the season, with her best result coming in Lyon.
Before this season, Bondar had not won more than two tour-level in a single season, but has doubled that tally and will now eye a big upset on Thursday’s clash against the returning Collins.
Collins v Bondar Prediction and Tip
Collins has plenty of fond memories to draw upon from the Miami Open. She reached the quarterfinals as a qualifier in 2018, announcing herself on the biggest stage with that stunning win over Venus Williams. Assuming Collins has shaken off her dizziness problem, I expect her to restore her momentum from the Australian Open.
Tip: Collins to win in straight sets: 4/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
