Veronika Kudermetova has been one of the best performing tennis players in 2022. The Russian has played a strong and consistent brand of tennis for the majority of year scoring some very impressive wins over very good tennis players.
She is 13-6 on the year with a final in Dubai. Last week in Indian Wells was another solid outing reaching the quarterfinal. She ran into Paula Badosa and the Spaniard proved slightly better. In Miami, things are looking good for the Russian once again.
Galfi is an opponent who has troubled Kudermetova in the past but her level is so much higher and her confidence is also very high. The conditions are perfect for her and I expect her to have another strong event.

Galfi Picking up Form in North America
Dalma Galfi is not the best hard court player yet the Hungarian has been picking up form in North America at an impressive pace. She is now ranked outside of the top 100 but she is still fairly young with a chance to improve. A couple of strong showings at ITF events has her record on the year to 13-6.
She had to play the qualifications both in Miami and Indian Wells and for the most part, she was quite good. In Indian Wells, she ran into Alison Van Uytvacnk who proved a bit better and this week she actually won her 1st round matchup.
It was against Kucova and Galfi won that comfortably. Her next opponent is by far the strongest she played in a long time but some fond memories about playing Kudermotva in the past could help her find inspiration to play well.
Kudermetova v Galfi Prediction and Tip
Dalma Galfi has beaten Veronika Kudermetova both times they played in the past however those matches came a very long time ago with the most recent being played in 2017. Kudermetova is a vastly different player now and has dealt with the WTA tour much better than Galfi.
She is also in better shape at the moment and is playing with a lot more confidence thanks to some strong results in 2022. ANything but her easy win would be quite a shocker to many, myself included. I just can’t side with anything but Kudermetova in this spot. She’s been too solid so far and I have no reason to doubt her.
