Ons Jabeur v Kaia Kanepi Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players with Jabeur having defeated Kanepi both times.
The first time they met was in 2015 in Indian Wells while their more recent match came at the 2020 US Open in the second round. Both were straight-set wins for the Tunisian player.

After getting a first round bye, Jabeur registered a straight set win over Magda Linette in the second to set up this round of 32 encounter with the experienced Kanepi.
In a match lasting an hour and 42 minutes, Jabeur blasted eight aces and fended off 12 of the 13 break-points she faced to carve out a 7-6 (1), 6-2 win over Linette.
Jabeur, who had come into this tournament on the back of an underwhelming 6-4 win-loss record for the season, drew first blood in the opening set but then dropped her own serve in the eighth game. She saved a set-point on her own serve before running away with the tie-breaker.
The second set was a lot easier for the Tunisian player as she broke Linette in the sixth and eighth games to seal off her third round place.

Kanepi Comes Back to Beat Sorribes Tormo
She was a favourite going into her second round match against Sara Sorribes Tormo but when she fell behind by a set, things looked like they could get either way.
The Estonian, 36-year-old pulled out a rabbit out her hat though as she registered a 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 win over her Spaniard opponent in a match lasting more than two hours and 40 minutes.
Kanepi was broken four times in the encounter but she managed to come back towards the latter half of the second and the entire third set with a whopping seven breaks of serves to clinch the third round berth.
The former world number 15, who has found a new lease of tennis life in recent times, was up 6-2 in her first round match against Maryna Zanevska before her opponent had retired from the contest.
