Iga Swiatek v Madison Brengle Head to Head

Poland’s Iga Swiatek rolled into the third round of the Miami Open, with a 6-2, 6-0 drubbing of Switzerland’ Viktorija Golubic in the second round on Friday. The win secured her the No.1 ranking which will be updated on April 4.
The win also extended Swiatek’s unbeaten run to 12 matches and kept her on course for a rare Indian Wells-Miami double.
Swiatek, who was ousted in the third round of the tournament on debut last year, won 63 of 99 points in the match against Golubic. Both players held nine break points each through the match, with the Polish player converting six and saving eight of them.
The 20-year-old, currently ranked no. 2 in the world, has captured five titles so far in her career, and those include the French Open in 2020, three WTA 1000 and one WTA 500 tournaments. to of those WTA 1000 titles came in Dubai and Indian Wells this year. She is 21-3 so far this season and is looking unstoppable at the moment.

Brengle Breezes Past Samsonova
World No. 59 Madison Brengle of America breezed past Liudmilla Samsonova to reach the third round for the second time in her sixth try in Miami.
A quarterfinalist in Adelaide-2 this year, the 31-year-old came back from a break down twice in the first set, before breaking Samsonova a third time and taking a one-set lead.
Brengle would not put a foot wrong again in the match as she bageled the 29th seed in the next set for a 6-4, 6-0 win in an hour and 10 minutes.
The American had also scored a convincing win in the first round, making quick work of the Philippines’ Alex Eala, winning 6-2, 6-1 in 73 minutes.
