Alexander Zverev v Mackenzie McDonald Head to Head
The players have met twice with Zverev winning on both occasions. Their most recent meeting was last month in Montpellier with Zverev winning in straight sets.

Coming into 2022 with a strong end to the last season, Alexander Zverev was one of the favorites for the swing Down Under and expected to continue his good form.
However, it has been a below par early part of the season for the German. An early loss at the Aussie Open to Denis Shapovalov was followed by an unexpected Montpellier final defeat to Alexander Bublik.
Acupulco was controversial with the disqualification due to unsportsmanlike conduct and Indian Wells saw another early loss, this time to American Tommy Paul.
After an early round bye, Zverev was up against Borna Coric, who has troubled the German in the past but this time was coming off a long injury lay off.
The match turned out to be much closer than expected with Coric sending the match into a decider after Zverev won the opener.
However the lack of match practice of late was evident for Coric as he ran out of steam in the third set with Zverev clinching the match with a break of serve in the final set.
The number two seed will be hoping for a more convincing display in the rounds to come as he eyes a deep run here before heading into the European clay swing.

Big Dimitrov Win For McDonald
2021 was a breakthrough year for American Mackenzie McDonald, who reached his first ATP Final in Washington before losing to Jannik Sinner, reached a career high ranking, and won a Challenger title, the third of his career.
Except a quarter-final appearance in Dubai where he lost to eventual champion Andrey Rublev, there has not been much success this season for the American yet.
In Indian Wells, he began his campaign with a good battling win over the Hungarian, Maron Fucsovics, but was then beaten by the Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz.
It has been a good couple of rounds here in Miami so far with McDonald coming from behind to beat German world number 64 Dominik Koepfer and then followed it with a convincing straight sets win against former world number three Grigor Dimitrov.
The American will be hoping to carry his strong form into the next round against the currently scratchy Zverev.
Zverev v McDonald Prediction and Tip
Although on paper, Zverev starts as a strong favorite, both players have come in with different form. McDonald is riding on a high with his win over Dimitrov where as Zverev has looked shaky this season and scraped through in his previous encounter against Coric.
Expect a close encounter with Zverev prevailing in a hard fought decider.
