Naomi Osaka v Danielle Collins Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these players and both matches have been won by Osaka. Those encounters came in Beijing in 2018 and Indian Wells in 2019.

After an early exit from the Indian Wells Open two weeks ago, Osaka looks to have finally found herself some sort of a rhythm as she carved out another straight-set win to make the last eight.
The former world number one emulated her showing from the previous edition in Indian Wells when she overcame Alison Riske 6-3, 6-4 in an hour and 32 minutes.
Osaka saved four break-points in a rather long opening game before racing off to a 3-0 lead. She had five set-points on Riske’s serve before finishing things off in the opening set off the first one on her own.
An early loss of serve followed soon after for Osaka but she quickly broke back two games in a row to establish supremacy again and complete the win.

Collins Mauls Jabeur in Round Four
There wasn’t too much to choose between Collins and Jabeur coming into their fourth round encounter but the manner in which the American got through for her win will give her a lot of confidence coming up against the former world number one.
Collins was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Jabeur, needing just 67 minutes to romp past her opponent and set up a meeting with Osaka.
Winning 73% of her first serves and second serves, Collins’ only moment of difficulty came in the first game of the set when she dropped serve. That joy did not last too long for Jabeur though as Collins broke right back and then again in the 10th game of the second set to complete the win.
Collins, who is coming off two tournament wins last season and was the finalist at the Australian Open earlier this year, will hope she can put up a similar showing against Osaka as well.
