Casper Ruud v Francisco Cerundolo Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between both players.

Ruud In First Hard Court Masters Semis
It has been a mixed season for the Norwegian Casper Ruud thus far pulling out of the Aussie Open and the ATP 500 in Rio, but won the title in Argentina before losing out in the third round of Indian Wells to Nick Kyrgios.
Casper Ruud won his first ever main draw match at the Miami Masters last week against Henri Laaksonen and has gone from strength to strength since on these Florida hard courts.
Expecting to face a stern test against Montpellier Open champion Alexander Bublik, Ruud prevailed in straight sets and then followed it with another straight sets win against in-form 2021 Indian Wells Cameron Norrie of Britain, making his first ever quarterfinal at the event and looking to continue a confident boosting run here heading into the clay swing.
Playing Alexander Zverev in the quarters, Ruud did not start as the favorite, but soon after the match started he was off the blocks breaking Zverev early and keeping the solid service game going with a 6-3 win.
The German who had reportedly been sick for the last couple days, came back strong to break twice and clinch the second set 6-1 as Ruud was seen limping a little as he got the trainer at the end of the second set.
Ruud started well in the decider breaking Zverev early and although the German served strong in the decider there on, there was no breaking the Ruud service game as the Norwegian qualified for his fourth Masters 1000 semi-final and the first one outside of clay.

Cerundolo’s Dream Run Continues
Francisco Cerundolo had come into the tournament having never won a tour-level match on hard courts.
However, the 23-year-old Argentine has played sensational tennis over the last few days, earning his first four tour-level hard court wins and making it to the quarterfinals of the Miami Open here.
Tiafoe had beaten Cerundolo’s brother Juan Manuel in the third round, and with a win over America’s Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round on Tuesday, it was a revenge of sorts for the World No. 103, who is playing in an ATP 1000 event for the first time in his career.
Cerundolo outlasted Tiafoe 6-7 (2-7), 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 in a close to two-and-a-half hour physical battle, which saw the American struggle with a back injury.
Cerundolo, who made his ATP 500 semifinal debut in Rio earlier this year, had begun the tournament with a hard fought win over Tallon Griekspoor but then registered convincing wins over Reilly Opelka and Gael Monfils.
Coming into the quarter-finals against Italian Jannik Sinner, it was always going to be a difficult encounter for the Argentine. But, with Sinner coming in at the back of tight matches against Emil Ruusuvouri, Pablo Carreno Busta and Nick Kyrigos, it definitely took its toll on him.
Cerundolo broke early in the first set to go up 4-1 and with Sinner feeling uneasy with the movement, his blisters on the foot flared up and he had to withdraw handing over the semi-final spot to the young Argentine.
Ruud v Cerundolo Prediction and Tip
An exciting match on the cards, with a contrast of playing styles. Cerundolo can be expected to play freely with nothing to lose, but the consistency of Ruud will definitely be a factor here.
Expect a three set win for the Norwegian.
