J.J. Wolf v Gijs Brouwer Head to Head
This will be their first tour-level meeting. Wolf won their only meeting at a qualifying round in Orlando in 2019.

Playing for the first time on clay at the tour-level, J.J. Wolf got off to a great start as he knocked out the in-form Jenson Brooksby in the first round.
Brooksby, too, was playing on clay for just the second time and is now 0-2 on the surface.
Wolf was down a break early in the first set, but he recovered quickly to draw level at 3-3 and then got another break to seal the first set.
Wolf continued his solid performance in the second set, saving a break point in the ninth game and then converting one of the three match points in the 10th for a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
With the win, Wolf improved to 4-3 for the season. He had won his first round matches in Acapulco, Indian Wells and Miami and was a semifinalist at the Challenger tournament in Phoenix. Having started off well in Houston, the 23-year-old now eyes a maiden ATP quarterfinal.

Brouwer Extends Lopez’s Winless Run
Gijs Brouwer made an excellent start to his ATP career as he won his debut match against Spanish veteran Feliciano Lopez on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Dutch left-hander got a break in the very first game of the match and then dominated the proceedings to clinch the contest 6-4, 6-2.
In a match that lasted an hour and 17 minutes, the Dutchman faced just one break point which he saved. He had five break point opportunities and he converted three of them. The world no. 361 was very good on his serve, winning 83% points on the back of his first serve.
Brouwer is relatively inexperienced on the Challenger Tour as well. However, he has 5 ITF titles with one of them coming on clay. The loss extended Lopez’s losing streak to six matches, from all levels this year. he is yet to win a match in 2022.

Although Wolf doesn’t have too much of experience at the top level, but he has played a lot on the Challenger tour and that should make him the favourite in this contest. He is also coming off a big win and is in good form. So expect the American to make the quarterfinals.
