Madison Keys v Belinda Bencic Head to Head
It’s a 2-1 advantage for Keys; she has beaten Bencic twice with the most recent win coming in Doha last year. She also won their meeting in the 2015 French Open.

Madison Keys is off to a blazing start in the Charleston Open 2022 as she dismissed Norway’s Ulrikke Eikeri 6-3, 6-1.
The American is now 15-6 for the season and is certainly well primed to improve those numbers further. As a two-time finalist here (champion in 2019), Keys has a good pedigree in the competition and generally plays well on clay courts.
Her highlights of the season include a title run in Adelaide 2, a semifinal stint in the Australian Open, and a quarterfinal feat at the Indian Wells. Keys is now World No. 24 and while she is in good form, her last match was in the Miami Open where she fell to Anhelina Kalinina in the opener.
Taking on an opponent like Bencic will be a tricky affair for the 27-year-old but given her trophy collection and overall experience, she is more than ready for the challenge.

Bencic Subdues Fruhvirtová
Number 10 seed Belinda Bencic tamed the rising Czech teenager Linda Fruhvirtová 6-1, 7-6(8) in her opening match here. Like Keys, she too enjoyed a bye into round two.
Across the three surfaces, the Swiss has been the weakest on clay and it will be interesting to see how she handles the clay swing. That said, Bencic has reached the semifinal and quarterfinal on two different occasions in Charleston.
Add to this her recent semifinal success in Miami, it becomes all the more evident why the 25-year-old has a good chance to win this one. Bencic is a skilled player and while she has had her trysts with consistency this season (10-6), she has a fair bit of momentum on her side to make amends here.
Looking at her 2022 losses, she has fallen to the likes of Naomi Osaka, Paula Badosa, Amanda Anisimova, Anett Kontaveit, and Clara Tauson. All of these players are rising prodigies with impeccable talent and Keys is just as good as them.
Bencic v Keys Prediction and Tip
As said earlier, this will be an even match. Both players are mature and have seen their fair share of big games; it is quite likely this will go to three sets before we see a winner.
