Stefanos Tsitsipas v Fabio Fognini Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between Tsitsipas and Fognini. Tsitsipas has won every single time, including at the clay courts of Rome in 2019.

Tsitsipas Hoping for Revival on Clay
By the looks of things, a 17-7 win-loss record for the season doesn’t seem to be too bad but Tsitsipas will know he can do a lot better than that.
Especially a lot better than his third round exit in Indian Wells and a fourth round ouster in Miami, two tournaments he would have been expected to get to the business end at.
Things hadn’t looked so bleak all the way through this season for Tsitsipas though as he reached the semifinal of the Australian Open, but since then the form has taken a hit.
The good news for the Greek number one is he loves his clay, as can be seen from his showing at the 2021 French Open where he made it all the way to the final and the two titles he won on the surface.
One of them came at Monte-Carlo and Tsitsipas will hope he can turn things around with another deep run here.

Fognini Struggles to Get Past Rinderknech
It took Fognini two and a half hours but he managed to scrape past Arthur Rinderknech in the end in a gruelling three-setter. The world number 32 and former winner at this competition, won 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 to set up his meeting with Tsitsipas.
The pair exchanged breaks of serves in the third and fourth games and then again in the ninth and 10th games of the opening set, with Rinderknech unable to close things out both times. Fognini then broke again in the 12th to go one up.
In the second set, Rinderknech needed just one break of serve which came in the first game and levelled things out before Fognini forged ahead twice in the decider to close out the encounter.
Fognini will have need to get a lot of those first serves in against Tsitsipas though, because a figure of 53% which he had against Rinderknech just doesn’t cut the ice.
Tsitsipas v Fognini Prediction and Tip
This should not give Tsitsipas too much to think about. Expecting the Greek player to win in straight sets despite his form trouble.
Tip: Tsitsipas to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
