Casper Ruud v Holger Rune Head to Head
They played twice before and Ruud won both matches. Both happened last year and Rune won two games in one and three in the other.

Casper Ruud is back on clay and it’s showtime. The Norwegian player was utterly impressive last year on the surface and it started with a surprise semifinal run at the Monte-Carlos Masters. This time around everybody knows who he is and how good on clay he is.
28-5 was the record of Ruud on the surface with multiple titles in the bag as well. This year it’s 4-0 with a trophy in Argentina so he’s ready. Coming off of a run in Miami he should be pretty confident in his game overall and the Monegasque suits him rather well as he showed last year.
Ruud is 11-3 overall this year and has shown a steady level of tennis that is very hard to counter. Carlos Alcaraz had to produce a superb effort in Miami to take him down and even then he had issues at times.

Improvement from Rune
Holger RUne had a very shaky start to the year with the Danish player simply not playing good tennis. Even a trip to South America and clay proved rather unfruitful with several lacklustre performances. Now, fresh off a challenger title, Rune is looking very sharp on his favourite surface.
He is on an 8-match winning streak at the moment that includes two wins in the qualifiers as well a pretty good win over Aslan Karatsev in round one. He seems to be in good shape not feeling any fatigue for now but he could have really avoided that 3rd set against Karatsev.
He was up a break in the 2nd set but lost the set and complicated things for himself by having to play an additional set. That, with the recent workload, might prove costly against Ruud who is a terrible matchup for him anyway.
Ruud v Rune Prediction and Tip
Casper Ruud and Holger Rune played two times before and Ruud utterly dominated his opponent. The Danish player won 5 games combined in both matches and that’s not very good. Both enjoy clay but one is one of the best clay players in the world while the other is a rising talent.
Rune is playing superb tennis at the moment but I simply don’t see him winning this match under any circumstances. He tends to get frustrated rather easily and Ruud will grind him into oblivion with his super solid tennis.
He demonstrated that twice last year and while Rune is much better at the moment so is Ruud. Take the Norwegian to win in two and don’t sweat it.
