Casper Ruud v Brandon Nakashima Head to Head

Casper Ruud arrived in Monte Carlo in excellent form having won six titles in the past year, including five on clay, and having just finished up runner-up in Miami to Carlos Alcaraz.
Having got a first round bye, Ruud had a good contest with Danish Holger Rune winning 7-6, 7-5 before a shock exit against Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets.
The Norwegian will hope to get over the early loss at Monte Carlo and continue to be a strong favorite for success during the clay season and more specifically this week in Barcelona.
It has been a mixed season for the Norwegian thus far pulling out of the Aussie Open and the ATP 500 in Rio, but won the title in Argentina before losing out in the third round of Indian Wells to Nick Kyrgios. Ruud was a finalist at the Miami Open and will hope to keep that momentum going during the clay swing.

Nakashima Aiming To Redirect Season
20-year-old Nakashima has not had a particularly promising season after having made it to the quarterfinal in Sydney in the very first tournament he played in 2022.
Since then the American has a 5-7 win-loss record including a first round defeat at the Challenger competition in Phoenix as well.
Coming to Barcelona, Nakashima was yet to win a main draw match on this surface, with a qualifying defeat at the French Open last year ending his season on this surface.
Up against little known Spaniard Nicolas Alvarez Varona, it was somewhat hard fought win for the American, but one that will give him some confidence going into the next round.
Ruud v Nakashima Prediction and Tip
Expect a good contest but the Norwegian despite the hiccup at Monte Carlo, should be a strong favorite for a straight sets win here. A win that can be expected to set Ruud’s clay season back on track.
