Carlos Alcaraz v Jaume Munar Head to Head
There have been two previous encounters between these two Spaniards, with both winning one each. Their most recent meeting came in Rio earlier this year with Alcaraz winning in three sets.

Alcaraz Readjusting to Life after Miami Win
Having made the semifinal in Indian Wells, Alcaraz had gone two better in Miami by reaching the final and defeating Casper Ruud to lift his first Masters title.
Since then, he has played a couple of matches on clay and things haven’t been as straightforward for him.
The first came at the Monte-Carlo Masters, where following a first round bye, Alcaraz lost to Sebastian Korda in three sets in the second. And while that could be put down to an aberration, he wouldn’t be too happy with his performance in his opener here in Barcelona.
Another first round bye for Alcaraz kick-started things off in Barcelona and he would have thought Soon-woo Kwon might not be the toughest second round opponent. In fact, such is the supposed difference in their pedigree, bookmakers had Alcaraz pegged at 1/20 to win it.
Instead, Alcaraz needed to grind his way to the victory, dropping a set on his way.
Question is if it’s a rhythm thing and a matter of getting a couple of good sets under his belt to get things back on track?

Munar Takes Another One in Straight Sets
Munar has fallen to outside the top 100 in the ATP Rankings and while he did win the Marbella Challenger on clay earlier this year he would have liked to do a lot better at Monte Carlo.
Instead, the Spaniard lost to Federico Delbonis in his opener there despite starting out as a 3/10 favourite to defeat his Argentine opponent.
Which is why the kind of start he has had at Barcelona Open will make him happier, more confident.
In his first round, Munar overcame Arthur Rinderknech 6-2, 6-4 before crushing seeded player Nikoloz Basilashvili 6-1, 6-4 in the second. And while Alcaraz is a far superior opponent than the aforementioned two, Munar’s ever-growing confidence could make this an intriguing contest.
Alcaraz v Munar Prediction and Tip
While Alcaraz is 1/5 to win this, we could see a tougher contest than usual. It might still be a straight-set win but one which sees Alcaraz getting stretched a tad.
Tip: Over 19.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
