Cristian Garin v Filip Krajinovic Head to Head
They played twice before and Krajinovic won both matches. They happened a long time ago with the most recent one coming in 2017 with Krajinovic winning 6-1 6-1.

Cristian Garin spent the better part of this year battling shoulder injuries and his play was awful. It got so bad at a time that the Chilean contemplated walking away from tennis. He opted to push through and with his shoulder seemingly finally healthy he started playing better tennis overall.
He is still only 6-9 on the year but the majority of these wins came in the final few weeks. He reached the semifinal in Houston taking down Tylor Fritz in the quarterfinal. He skipped Monte-Carlo and returned in Belgrade where he ran into an inspired Holger Rune who proved better.
It’s been a bad season for Garin but he has shown improvement over the past few weeks and we should expect to see more.

Bad, Bad, Bad from Krajinovic
Filip Krajinovic is not playing very good tennis at the moment. It does not look terrible statistically as he is 8-8 on the year but the eye test has not been very good. He is losing matches to players he should objectively defeat. A win over David Goffin in Belgrade was good but the Belgian had to cool off at one point.
The next match he played against Thiago Monteiro was utterly terrible. A 4-6 1-6 defeat in front of his native fans was not something he wants on his resume and it remains a question whether he can really turn it around a couple of days later in Munich.
He had an excellent outing here last year reaching the quarterfinal but it remains to be seen whether he can replicate it. He is not playing at a very similar level right now but quite a bit worse.
Garin v Krajinovic Prediction and Tip
So the H2H is 2-0 for Krajinovic and both of these matches came on clay. However, Garin is a much better player since then while Krajinovic is actually worse. The Serbian is not having a good year, he’s not playing well on clay at the moment and Garin showed more in recent weeks.
It’s a very tricky match as both players can win. Garin has looked better but it hasn’t been a world-beating effort. The loss to Rune in Belgrade was quite poor. I still think he is better than Krajinovic at the moment. I will back him to win although I’m not that confident on the play. It’s more a play against Krajinovic than it is for Garin.
