John Millman v Egor Gerasimov Head to Head
They never played before.

Down Year for Millman
John Millman is not having the best of years on the Tour as the Australian is having a rather down year compared to previous ones. He’s always hovered between 50 and 100 on the rankings but he never quite found a major breakthrough. This year he’s been mostly closer to the 100 mark with some poor play.
He’s only 7-11 on the year with Belgrade seeing him snap a 3-math losing streak with a victory over Dominic Thiem. It was a close match and he won it barely against a player who’s been lacking matches and generally did not play that well.
It sort of paints a very clear picture about Millman and his tennis currently. He’s also not been the best on clay in the past although he’s certainly better than your average Australian.

The Red-Hot Gerasimov
Egor Gerasimov was never a very good play player, well at least until recently. His tennis in Barcelona caught many people off guard because he played very aggressively and it worked rather well for him. He won two matches in the qualifiers, then another one in round one and ultimately it took very effort from Cameron Norrie to lose.
He continued to play well in Munich taking down Francisco Cerundolo and Thiago Monteiro on clay which they both prefer. The wins were actually quite easy for him and he had no trouble winning against both. That’s a strange development for the Belarussian but one that might see him return to the top 100 if he keeps it up.
He’s 13-11 on the year but 5-1 on clay which should put Millman on notice.
Millman v Gerasimov Prediction and Tip
So this is a matchup between a player who is a counter-puncher in Millman and Gerasimov who currently is adopting a very aggressive style of play. It’s working wonders for the Belarussian and he certainly won’t change it against Milman and he should not.
The Australian would have a very good chance on hard courts but on clay, this matchup is not looking very good for him. He’s pretty quick and he can move well which could make things interesting but the way they both performed in the last two weeks makes me think this won’t be a long match.
I’ll take Gerasimov to win. He’s been impressive in Barcelona and he’s been even more impressive in Munich. He got to play two matches, he knows the courts and conditions compared to Millman who did not play a single match yet. Take the slight underdog.
Tip: Gerasimov to win in straight sets: 13/8 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
