Jiri Vesely v Hugo Dellien Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the two players on the ATP Tour.

World No. 74 Jiri Vesely is heading into the 2022 Estoril Open with an underwhelming form of 5-7 in 2022.
While he hasn’t been among the most consistent performers, he is quite capable of pulling a surprise. Case in point, in the ATP Dubai, he made it to the final as a qualifier after dismissing the likes of Marin Cilic, Roberto Bautista Agut, Novak Djokovic, and Denis Shapovalov. The Czech ultimately lost to Andrey Rublev.
Vesely had a similar run in the Maharashtra Open where he reached the quarterfinal.
Apart from these two events, his results on the ATP circuit haven’t been that great as he lost in the opening rounds in Doha and most recently, Marrakech. The 28-year-old also played in a couple of Challenger events with his best run coming in Madrid where he reached the semis.

Dellien Clears the Qualifiers
Hugo Dellien of Bolivia made his way into the main draw in Estoril after overcoming Gastao Elias and Max Purcell in the qualifiers in straight sets.
Currently ranking World No. 85, Dellien is still in pursuit of his maiden ATP title. For what it’s worth, the chances of him breaking this rut are higher in the clay swing – especially when considering his 34 Challenger and Futures finals on this surface (24 trophies, 10 runner-ups).
Moreover, two of those results came as recently as last month in Concepcion and Santiago – which Dellien followed with a string of decent results on the ATP Tour.
He last played in the Barcelona Open where he made it to round two and before that, he featured in the Monte-Carlo Masters; he cleared the qualifiers in both cases but ended up losing in the early rounds.
Vesely v Dellien Prediction and Tip
While Vesely may be the odds-on favourite, backing Dellien may lead to good profits – especially considering the odds at which he is available. In all fairness, this match can swing either way so the final call on the winner comes down to who you prefer more.
On the safer side, this has all the makings of being a long match.
