Daria Kasatkina v Anna Bondar Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between the two players on the WTA Tour.

Kasatkina, Coming off a Bleak Run
Daria Kasatkina started her clay swing on a rather disappointing note with a second-round exit to Ons Jabeur in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. That said, she did beat Cori Gauff in the opener in straight sets.
The 24-year-old is 12-8 this season with her key moments coming early on in Australia; she reached consecutive semifinals in Melbourne Set 2 and Sydney.
Since then, Kasatkina has been dismissed in the round three of the Australian Open, WTA Doha, and Indian Wells Open.
Nonetheless, the World No. 23 remains one of the potential dark horses in Madrid. She reached the quarterfinal here in 2018 and later reached the same stage at the French Open too. However, she has only managed one clay title so far in her career (2017 Charleston) and it will be interesting to see how she fares this time around.

Bondar Clears the Qualifiers
Anna Bondar of Hungary made her way to the main draw of the Madrid Open 2022 after dismissing Alex Eala (6-0, 6-0) and Greet Minnen (6-4, 6-2).
On the back of this solid, confident start, Bondar will now hope to topple Kasatkina and take things up a notch this season.
For what it’s worth, her chances of doing so aren’t that bad – she most recently reached the quarterfinal in Istanbul where she defeated Tereza Martincova and Nuria Parrizas Diaz enroute before succumbing to Veronika Kudermetova. While Bondar enjoyed a similar run in Lyon too, the rest of her tournaments have been largely underwhelming.
That said, she is now ranked World No. 68 – a career-best for her – and will be hopeful of going further up. She has also got a rich pedigree on clay, comprising a sole Challenger title from last year and 16 ITF finals.
Kasatkina v Bondar Prediction and Tip
While Kasatkina is the odds-on favourite, Bondar makes a compelling case for backing her. She is available at very good prices and is also well-primed to knock out the out-of-form and inconsistent Kasatkina. This should be a good match to follow, one that can quite likely to go three sets.
Tip: Bondar to win 2-1: 9/2 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
