Emma Raducanu v Marta Kostyuk Head to Head

Marta Kostyuk couldn’t have asked for a better start to her campaign in Madrid Open. The 19-year-old Ukrainian dismissed the rising Danish prodigy Clara Tauson 6-3, 6-2, thus setting the precedent to do something similar against Raducanu.
Currently ranked World No. 60, Kostyuk arrived in Spain with a tally of 10-7 with the highlight of her season coming in the Australian Open where she reached round three. Since then, she featured in Dubai and Doha but was beaten in the opening round after clearing through the qualifiers.
In Indian Wells and Miami, her journey was halted early as well – this time with losses against Elise Mertens and Belinda Bencic.
As for her overall pedigree, she may not have a Grand Slam to her name yet but she did win the Juniors in Australian Open singles and US Open doubles in 2017. She has also got a few ITF clay finals while last season, she reached the fourth round in the French Open.

Raducanu Overcomes Martincova
Emma Raducanu was off to a blazing start as she dismantled Tereza Martincova 7-6(3), 6-0. The World No. 11 continues to build on her positive run in Stuttgart where she reached the quarterfinal after moving past Storm Sanders and Tamara Korpatsch.
Her tally for the season now stands at 6-7 as the British No. 1 continues her pursuit to prove that she is not a one-hit-wonder and can do much more than winning the US Open as a qualifier. Admittedly, since that breakthrough run in New York, Raducanu has not won more than two matches in any other tournament.
To add to that, the 19-year-old also parted ways with her former coach Torben Beltz to look for a “new training model.” Perhaps the timing may not be that great as the competition is bound to be tricky in the Madrid 1000; she hasn’t got any clay titles either – be it on the WTA Tour or the ITF.
Raducanu v Kostyuk Prediction and Tip
Both players are evenly-experienced, making this a match that can go either way. It is also evident from the fact that bookmakers are pegging both players at equal odds.
Between the two, Kostyuk has a better chance of winning due to her clay pedigree. That said, Raducanu is capable of surprises and can very well march on. On the safe side, this can be a long affair.
