Casper Ruud v Dusan Lajovic Head to Head
Ruud has a perfect 3-0 record against the Serb. All those meetings were on hard courts. This will be their first match on clay.

Ruud Will Be Eager to Make a Brisk Start
Picking up from where he left last season, Casper Ruud won the title in Buenos Aires and finished runner-up in Miami this year. But the Norwegian has failed to have the same sort of impact on European clay so far.
In Monte Carlo, the World No. 7 lost in the Round of 16, and could only reach as far as the quarterfinals in his last two tournaments in Barcelona and Munich.
With an aim to go deeper in Miami, Ruud will begin his campaign in the second round on Wednesday. The fifth seed, who is 17-7 overall this season, has a 4-1 record in Madrid. Last year, on his main-draw debut in the Spanish capital, Ruud reached the semifinals of the tournament before falling to Matteo Berrettini.
The 23-year-old, who thrives on clay, has a 71.3% win record on the surface. He has won six of his seven titles on the surface.

Lajovic Knocks Out Coric
World No. 77 Dusan Lajovic ended a three-match losing streak in the main draws with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over Croatia’s Borna Coric in the first round on Monday.
The Serbian had beaten Adrian Mannarino 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday and Roberto Carballés Baena 6-3, 6-2 on Sunday in the first and second qualifying rounds respectively.
Against Coric, Lajovic won 78% points on the back of his first delivery. He saved five of six break points and converted two of five to beat the World No. 264 in two hours and 21 minutes.
With the win, the 31-year-old improved his season record to 6-13. He has not won two matches in a row since the Canadian Masters last season and may struggled to end that trend on Wednesday.
Ruud v Lajovic Prediction and Tip
