Laslo Djere v Borna Coric Head to Head
Djere leads the H2H 1-0, winning in Gstaad, Switzerland back in 2018 on clay. The Serbian had prevailed 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 in a Round of 16 match and won as a massive underdog then.

Djere Gaining Confidence, Breezed Through Qualifiers
The world number 54, swept aside Hugo Dellien (6-4, 6-2) and Thanasi Kokkinakis (6-4, 6-4) in the Italian Open qualifiers to seal his spot in the main draw. He has now won 8 of his past 11 matches, all on clay.
Djere is playing some high quality tennis. He made the semis in Marrakech, lost to a flawless Tsitsipas in Monte Carlo Round of 16, and was a set and break ahead vs Djokovic in Belgrade but failed to close out the match.
The Serbian is extremely prolific on clay, having won both his ATP tour titles in this surface. He had a below par 2021 finishing with a 23-27 record. He has had a highest ranking of 27, and is seeking to get back into the top 30.

Coric Gradually Returns to Peak Fitness
Croatia’s Borna Coric is using his protected ranking to appear in the main draw. The once world number 12, had been sidelined for a full year, nursing a shoulder injury.
Coric has only played 6 matches this year, losing 5 of them. The good part is, he has won at least one set in all the five matches he lost. It is very difficult to get back on tour after such a serious injury.
The Croatian’s game style suits the faster hard/indoor courts. Hence, he may not be too worried about his recent results. The intention is to play pain free. He will be hoping he returns to his peak soon, competing at his highest level possible.
Djere v Coric Prediction and Tip
With Coric still seeking for his best form, Serbia’s Djere will fancy himself for a win here on his favourite surface.
