Victoria Azarenka v Viktorija Golubic Head to Head
It’s 1-0 to Azarenka who took the match in Madrid just two weeks ago with 7-6(5), 6-3.

Azarenka, Looking Determined
Former world number one Victoria Azarenka has been gradually playing the kind of tennis of late that took her to the top a few years ago. Her record stands at 10-6 and comprises a handful of mid-round appearances across multiple events.
Most recently, the 32-year-old made it to the third round in the Madrid Open – losing ultimately to Amanda Anisimova. Before that, she endured a similar fate in Indian Wells and Miami – to two young rising stars in Elena Rybakina and Linda Fruhvirtova.
These may not have been the most impressive results from Azarenka, but they have been enough to keep her afloat in the top 20. She also started the season on a strong note by reaching the quarters in Adelaide and round four in the Australian Open.
She may very well do it again – quite likely in Rome as she is a four-time quarterfinalist and the 2013 runner-up.

Golubic, Battling Form Woes
By stark contrast, Viktorija Golubic has had a rather opposite season in 2022. The Swiss is 8-10 – she has fallen in the early rounds in Miami, Stuttgart, Lyon, Doha, Adelaide, and the Australian Open.
The best she has done is reaching the quarterfinal in Melbourne 250 and round four in Indian Wells – defeating Yulia Putintseva and Jasmine Paolini en route.
As for her pedigree on clay, Golubic’s resume is quite thin when compared to Azareka’s.
The 29-year-old has conquered only one tournament on clay – her sole singles WTA title from the Swiss Open in 2016. In the Italian Open, this is just her second appearance with the last one (2019) ending in the qualifying rounds. Golubic hasn’t fared well in the French Open either.
Azarenka v Golubic Prediction and Tip
This match is Azarenka’s to lose – she defeated Golubic quite recently and is certainly more comfortable on clay. This match should go her way once again although this time, we may see a longer game than the one in Madrid.
Tip: Over 21.5 Games, Azarenka to Win: 8/5 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
