Felix Auger Aliassime v Alejandro Davidovich Fokina Head to Head

Auger-Aliassime won their only tour-level meeting at the Australian Open this year.

The Canadian also won a lower level match on clay in Spain in 2018.

Auger-Aliassime Looking to Go Deep in Italy

After a hat-trick of quarterfinal exits, World No. 9 Felix Auger-Alissime will be looking to go deeper in Rome.

Not that he has a great record at the Italian Open, where he is yet to go past the third round, but a maiden appearance in the quarterfinals in Madrid would have done his confidence a world of good.

Auger-Alissime is 21-11 this season and 6-5 on clay, having reached the last eight in his previous three tournaments in Barcelona, Estoril and Madrid.

The 21-year-old was in sensational form on hard courts this year, starting the season brightly by leading Canada to the ATP Cup title. He also claimed his first ATP title, by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Rotterdam final and then reached his 10th ATP final in Marseille only to finish runner-up once again, for the ninth time in his career.

He will be against a tough opponent on Tuesday and will have to bring out his A-game to advance into the next round.

Davidovich Fokina Battles Past Ivashka

Monte-Carlo Masters runner-up is into the second round of the Italian Open for the second consecutive year. The 22-year-old Spaniard ousted Belarus’ Ilya Ivashka in the first round of the tournament on Monday to march into the Round of 32.

Ranked no. 29th in the world, Davidovich Fokina saved 6 of 11 break points and converted 7 of 17 on his way to a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory in two hours and 42 minutes.

The Spaniard struck 28 winners and made three unforced errors compared to his opponent’s 23 winners and four unforced errors.

Davidovich Fokina, who reached the third round in Rome last year, improved to 12-12 overall this season and 8-4 on clay.

Auger-Aliassime v Davidovich Fokina Prediction and Tip

This is a tough opening match for Auger-Aliassime, but he will be fresher than the Spaniard, who spent close to three hours on court on Monday. Also the Canadian has looked good in the initial rounds of the recent tournaments and will be expected to edge past Davidovich Fokina.

Tip: Auger-Aliassime to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
