Richard Gasquet v John Millman Head to Head
They played once many years ago in 2016. Millman won 7-5 6-3.

Gasquet Still Kicking Around
Richard Gasquet is pretty close to retirement but the French player is still kicking around and it’s unclear how long he will keep going. His tennis is not what it used to be and his ranking is slowly slipping down. Soon he won’t be able to play ATP events and he might just call it quits then.
However, he is in Geneva and he will play another ATP event this week. He is playing an okay year with an 11-11 score and 5-5 on clay. Traditionally he’s been spectacular on clay and he can still play well on the surface. If he faces a lesser player on clay, he’ll win.
He will certainly try to do that against John Millman who is not great on clay but capable of winning matches. The Australian is a nuisance to play so it will be interesting to see how Gasquet will handle this.

Bad Year for Millman
John Millman is having anything but a good year as the Australian struggled immensely this year. His ranking dropped and he is closer to being out of the top 100 than inside the top 50 where he used to be It’s hard to pinpoint what troubles him but generally it’s been mostly lacklustre tennis.
He will produce a good level from time to time but generally, it’s been disappointing. Perhaps he will find a high level again but these past few weeks have been rough. He is 9-13 on the year and 3-4 on clay and I don’t see that changing much this week.
He will be glad to say goodbye to clay as he is 97-79 on the surface in his career. Most of those wins came when he was younger and these past few years it’s been a mixed bag at best.
Gasquet v Millman Prediction and Tip
So this is an interesting matchup but generally speaking, Gasquet has been better this season on clay. If this match happened on any other surface I would probably back the Australian but on clay, I simply can’t overlook how solid Gasquet was.
He will certainly enjoy some fan support in Geneva as well and that might be a deciding factor. Millman has not been good and a couple of shaky matches last week at a challenger event do not raise my level of trust in him. I don’t see him winning this so back Gasquet.
Tip: Gasquet to win in three sets: 3/1 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
