Lorenzo Sonego v Peter Gojowczyk Head to Head
They played once before and it came a long time ago in Rome in 2018. The German won 6-3 6-4.

Bad Year For Sonego
Lorenzo Sonego had a fairly strong year last season but so far this year it’s been rather bad. The record is not too terrible at 10-13 but a level of his forte should have played much better. His clay record is 6-7 and that’s just not good enough as he went 9-4 last year.
If Sonego is not winning matches on clay then it’s a bad sign. Even in Rome, he did not play as well as he can. Truth be told he ran into Denis Shapovalov who is sensational historically in Rome but still. He did not play well leading up to that event and it’s really hard to tell if he will ever flip the switch.
He can and that’s the story of Sonego. You never quite know which Sonego will show up and that makes him a nightmare to bet on. He’s the younger Fabio Fognini and that speaks volumes.

Shockingly Disappointing From Gojowczyk
Gojowczyk, who will be referred to as Peter from this point, for practical reasons, is playing a shockingly bad season so far. The German is only 3-11 on the year after going 36-27 last year. He is near to dropping outside of the top 100 and it’s going to come because he defends quite a bit of points in the 2nd part of the year.
On clay, he’s 0-3 with a couple of bad losses against players that are ranked way outside of the top 100. There might be some physical issues as well as he missed a few events as well. Overall it’s been bad and there is nothing to add there. Stylistically he loves to attack and he rarely does anything else.
If he hits more balls than he misses he wins, if not he loses. Pretty simple.
Sonego v Gojowczyk Prediction and Tip
Sonego has played a bad season but Peters has been incredibly bad. Neither give me much confidence but simply because of the way the last few weeks went I have to go with Sonego here. The value on Sonego is very low but if you want to bet on one player you should bet Sonego.
As bad as he has been recently, Gojowczyk has been much worse. Take Sonego.
Tip: Sonego to win in straight sets: 8/11 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
