Botic van de Zandschulp v Pavel Kotov Head to Head
The pair have never played each other before. This will be the first match between the 26 year old Dutchman, and his opponent, who is three years younger.

Munich Finalist Van de Zandschulp
The Dutch number one Van de Zandschulp made his main draw debut in Paris last year reaching the second round, but it was a few months later at the US Open where he really made his name, becoming only the third man in the open era to reach the quarter-finals having come through qualifying first.
Later that year he reached his first final in Bavaria, and he has continued his march up the rankings in 2022, breaking into the top 30 for the first time.
Although not widely regarded as a clay court player, he reached the final in Munich four weeks ago, and beat Casper Ruud along the way. Unfortunately for him he had to retire after just seven games of that final with the Dane Holger Vitus Nodskov Rune with an injury.
Since then he has reached the second round in Madrid and Rome, where Ruud avenged his Munich defeat.

Kotov Qualifies for Grand Slam Debut
This is not only the first time that Kotov, who is one of those players neutrally flagged at present, has made the main draw in Paris, it is also the first time that he has made it through qualifying at any Grand Slam tourament.
He arrived in Paris at a career high ranking though, having earlier this year won his second Challenger title in Italy, although that was on a hard court.
But he beat Hugo Grenier of France, the world number 151, in the first round of qualifying, and then the Austrian, Jiri Roidonov in the second.
The final obstacle to be surmounted was the world number 152, Pedro Cachin of Argentina, and Kotov cleared that with little difficulty, winning in straight sets for the loss of just five games.
Van de Zandschulp v Kotov Prediction and Tip
Kotov can congratulate himself for having made the main draw, but the Dutchman will likely prove much too strong for him.
