Karolina Muchova missed a great deal of this season due to injuries. The Czech player started playing only recently and it’s been a struggle as expected. She did show a lot of promise but it’s the high level she was showing prior to the injury that got her to the top 20.
Muchova has a very good game for all courts as she does everything well. There are some weaknesses there but overall she’s just a very solid player with a lot of room to grow. Traditionally, as with most Czech players, Muchova is very good on clay.
She has a brutal record on the surface and expect her to find some form in Paris. A wild card in the first round is a great start but she will need to play the way she can. Both in Madrid and Rome, she pushed her opponents to a 3rd set but lost in the end.

Grand Slam Debut for Monnet
Up and coming talent from France, Monnet gets a chance to make her grand slam debut at her native grand slam. Monnet is a solid player and quite young which means there should be some nerves present. She will most likely try her best but be easily overmatched by Muchova.
She is 15-16 on the year and 7-8 on clay. Recently she played some WTA tour matches in her native France and she showed promise. It wasn’t like she was smashed on the court even by noted professional Elise Mertens who beat her 7-5 6-4 in Strasbourg a few days ago.
Muchova v Bonnet Prediction and Tip
So the obvious play here is Muchova as she is the overwhelming favourite. Don’t be surprised though if Bonnet puts a really good fight. There is very little value in playing Muchova straight up but the odd would indicate she is a major favourite.
Not in Paris and not in these circumstances. Yes, she will most likely win but I doubt it will be 6-1 6-1. I expect the Frenchman to push Muchova quite a bit but still lose the match. We might even see three sets but upsetting the Czech player is a bit too much at the moment.
