Marton Fucsovics v Geoffrey Blancaneaux Head to Head
They never played against each other.

Down Year For Fucsovics
Marton Fucsovics is a very solid tennis player yet his 2022 has been anything but solid. The record of 12-13 is not too terrible yet it’s the play that’s been somewhat bad. There is a lack of consistency from Fucsovics which was a staple of his tennis career.
He’s never been the best but he’s always been solid enough to take down players that are ranked worse than him. He’s actually been quite solid on clay which is a solid thing for him because it should give him confidence moving towards the grass season where he always played well.
The form lately has not been that good. He lost to Maxime Cressy in Madrid and that’s a terrible result for him as it forced him to play the qualifiers in Rome. He lost to Dusan Lajovic and it will be interesting to see how well he does at Roland Garros.

Slow Rise for Blancaneaux
Native player Geoffrey Blancaneaux was able to secure himself a main draw appearance with strong play in the qualifiers. He is a junior champion of this event and now he will make his debut. It’s been a solid year for him so far as he was able to finally break into the top 200.
21-14 is the score and 8-5 on clay. Recent weeks have seen him play the best tennis he has played in a very long time and that’s why he’s in the main draw. It remains to be seen whether he can continue the solid play from the qualifiers in the main draw but there should be no lack of motivation.
He is coming off several solid results on the challenger tour but it remains to be seen whether he can keep it up on the main Tour.
Fucsovics v Blancaneaux Prediction and Tip
This is an interesting matchup because normally the Hungarian should be heavily favoured to win this one. He still is but if there is a spot where you would want to face Marton it’s probably at this time. He’s had solid results in the past at the event but he’s not played well this year and especially not this year.
On the other hand, his opponent is French, plays his best tennis on clay and is a junior champion of Roland Garros. He will have the crowd behind him and a few odd bounces and winners and he might win a set. That might give him confidence to win another one and things might snowball from there.
I do expect Fucsovics to win it because he’s the better player but it won’t be easy. We probably will see at least four sets, probably even 5 and anything can happen there. The value is not huge on Fucsovics but I think he will squeeze past his opponent.
Tip: Fucsovics to win in four sets: 13/10 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
