Roberto Carballés Baena v Oscar Otte Head to Head
While these two have never faced off at the highest level, there have been two previous meetings on the Challenger circuit. Both were held in 2017 and on clay with Carballes Baena and Otte winning once apiece.

Having fallen to 89th in the world, Carballés Baena has had little option but to feature on Challenger circuit in recent times. And his performances there have been solid and hope-providing.
Because coming into this the French Open, Carballés Baena managed to claim his first Challenger title of the season in Tunis, easing his way through 10 successive sets after losing the first one in the opening round.
Earlier, Carballés Baena had made it to the semifinal round at the Madrid Challenger too.
That said, his record in the main draws of the ATP tournaments at the highest level doesn’t make for a good reading. In the 12 such tournaments he has played this season, Carballés Baena has won just four main draw matches – not the kind of results he would have liked coming into this opener.

Otte Solid on Clay This Season
Otte did not have the greatest start to his clay court campaign this year when he fell to a first round loss at Monte Carlo Masters having entered the tournament as a lucky loser for starters.
Since then, however, Otte has turned things around himself, with a couple of solid showings on the red dirt.
At Belgrade, the German defeated Aslan Karatsev en route a quarterfinal appearance before storming into the semifinals of the Geneva Open. A win over Reilly Opelka was the highlight for him.
Otte did add a first round victory in Lyon just prior to the French Open but then fell to Sebastian Baez in the second.
