Emma Raducanu v Aliaksandra Sasnovich Head to Head
They played once before and it happened at the 2021 Indian Wells with Sasnovich winning 6-2 6-4.

Emma Raducanu had a lot of issues in her first-round matchup against Linda Noskova as the 17-year old player from the Czech Republic won the opening set and had a break in the 2nd. Raducanu continued battling and stayed patient when things were not going that well.
She was able to win the match and move to round one. It was a solid showing from Raducanu but also one showing that she can be vulnerable on this surface. Her back issues seem to be a thing of the past as she moved rather well and that’s very good to see.
She’s only 8-9 on the year but 5-3 on clay. Many wondered how she would play on the surface and she’s been pretty decent. She will have motivation to face Sasnovich again so this could be a very good spot for Raducanu to secure a round three in Paris.

Superb Year For Sasnovich
Sasnovich has been a steady performer for a while now but it seems like she finally figured out all things in 2022. She is 22-10 on the year with some very strong performances on all surfaces. Clay is not her best one but she is 7-4 on it, showing she has a game for all surfaces.
Coming into this Sasnovich played a lot of matches and she’s been fairly decent. Most of the time she beats players that are worse than her and puts up a very good fight against players that are better than her. I expect a similar thing with Raducanu especially since the Brit is vulnerable.
She smashed Xinyu Wang 6-4 6-1 in round one indicating some of the good form she showed in Strasbourg last week. If she can keep that up this will be a very close affair.
Raducanu v Sasnovich Prediction and Tip
I don’t see either player running away with this one. We might see three sets because both have shown a high level but both can be attacked as well. Raducanu is a bit more erratic but that’s just her playstyle. She has not much variety in her game at the moment but she will get there.
Sasnovich took their Indian Wells match with Raducanu being all over the place missing a lot. She will attempt to do that again but the Brit should be ready for it. I think it will be very close but it’s going to be on Emma’s racquet. If she can demonstrate patience as she did against Noskova she should be the favourite.
I’ll back Emma, simply because I think she is the better player overall. She seems to be healthy as well so let’s see how she handles the tricky Sasnovich.
